2013 Return of the Snake Dodge Viper Press Kit

Hello, Mopar lovers. Today I have an interesting piece of paraphernalia here. You'll have to forgive

me for taking off this rubber band, but the snakeskin is being held on not by static electricity

as it's meant to be, but by a rubber band. Actually now it's being held on by the static

electricity. Well that's nice. This is, as you might have guessed, a Dodge Viper press kit

and you'll notice it is held in this special snakeskin wrap, which I will now set aside

And here's the box. And Chrysler has had some rather amazing press kits over the years

Some of them have been better than others. At this point I guess it was an SRT Viper rather

than a Dodge Viper. And when you open up this box, you notice it's advertising the return of the Viper, and you may recall

the return of the snake. You may recall that the Viper was out of production for a few years

and then it was brought back. And when it was brought back as a 2013 SRT model, it was much

more luxurious than it had been before, and it had some features like stability control

It was a lot easier to drive, I'm told, and a lot better on rain. Indeed, driving on rainy tracks was

not quite as incredibly scary as it had been. And this press kit, basically you got the whole thing

digitally, as well as on this little book, which unfortunately has very glossy pages

And that engine was always insane for torque, low end torque. Here you see that it produced 640

horsepower and 600 pound feet of torque. Really, you know, that stump pulling torque

as they called it, really came in at low revs. Now, everything in that book, of course, let me move the book over here

is also in this very, very hard to open USB thumb drive

with the new Snake logo, which I understand when you put it upside down does not look like Donald Duck

and if you really are into Vipers, then I will suggest this excellent book by Maurice Lang

Maurice has been with Vipers since the beginning, and this is a really excellent book that he's

written. If you can get your hands on it, it is an excellent resource. It is, as you see, quite thick

It is very professionally done. It has many excellent photos, and it really goes into

the whole history of the vehicle, all 25 years. Now, if you can't find a copy of that book, and you probably can't, may I suggest my own little work
