Italy slaps Elkanns’ wrists in tax case
Without anyone admitting guilt, Italy has negotiated a settlement for a tax dispute with the Elkann family. Three siblings, John, Lapo, and Ginevra Elkann, will jointly pay $200 million (€183 million) in taxes from the estate of their grandmother, who died in 2019. John Elkann, chairman of Stellantis and Exor, will also do a year of community service.

Exor is the Agnellis’ investment company, which controls Ferrari, Case New Holland, Iveco, The Economist, and other businesses; Exor also controls the leading two Italian newspapers. John Elkann is also a board member at Meta (Facebook, Instagram, and such).
