2026 Dodge Charger Daytona “mpg” list implies new models (updated)

When electric cars started moving into the mainstream, the auto industry and governments decided to create a replacement for gas mileage, dubbed mpge, to calculate corporate average fuel economy.

The Canadian government has issued its ratings for the 2026 Dodge Charger Daytona lineup; at this point, the gasoline-powered Dodge Charger Sixpack series has yet to make an entrance in either US or Canadian regulators’ sites.

There is a good deal of variation in the Charger Daytonas, which in Canada are classed by tire size and model name. All are all wheel drive, but there are still R/T and Scat Pack models listed for 2026. Seven different models are listed, suggesting that the R/T is making a comeback, at least in the great white north—possibly to take advantage of the four-door:

Dodge’s US web site only describes the Charger Daytona Scat Pack, with 670 horsepower and a targeted 0-60 of 3.3 seconds. It provides 550 kW of power at first, then drops to 500 kW which can be provided for a full quarter mile. The Build & Price system does show the 2025 Daytona R/T ($59,595) as well as the Scat Pack; both are only sold in AWD (it has not been populated for 2026 yet). The R/T shows a choice of three tires, the 18-inch set (shown above with a 423-mile range), 255/45R20XL all-season (not shown at all in the chart), and 275/40ZR20 (shown with a 415-mile range).

The 2025 Scat Pack shows up with 20 inch wheels and all-season or three-season tires, both the same 305/35ZR20 size. It’s likely that the two optional packages shown above will be available later, and carry wider rear tires than front tires; the “Rear 3S” designation is likely the three-season tire not meant for winter driving. It may come coupled with a power boost which comes at the cost of range—or, possibly, a different drive ratio to cut a few tenths off the 0-60 time. Getting to 2.9 seconds would provide a hefty image boost.

One industry analyst wrote that two-doors have a small fraction of the possible sales of four-doors, so that a Daytona R/T that makes no sense in a two-door big car could very well fly off the lots with two more doors.

It is also possible that the company planned some options it no longer plans to provide, and those plans included filing mpge figures for cars that will never see the light of day.
