Stellantis announced that it will work with Nvidia, Uber, and Foxconn to explore joint creation and use of driverless robotaxis. It had previously agreed with Pony.ai to test autonomous cars in Europe.

The collaboration will use Stellantis’ AV-ready K0 Medium Size Van and STLA Small with the Nvidia Drive AGX Hyperion 10 architecture. This includes a safety-certified DriveOS operating system and autonomous vehicle (AV) software made for autonomy. Uber will deploy the vehicles in cities around the world, starting with 5,000 vehicles and the United States. They will ramp up testing with a target of starting production in 2028.
To clarify, the roles and responsibilities are:
- Stellantis will design and make vehicles based on its commercial vans and small car platforms.
- NVIDIA will provide the software.
- Foxconn will work with Stellantis on hardware and systems integration.
- Uber will operate the robotaxi services.
Stellantis’ AV-Ready Platforms include advanced sensor suites, high-performance computing, and system redundancies, using a flexible and scalable architecture. Stellantis claims they have one of the most competitive platforms in the industry, optimized for safety, reliability, and low total cost of ownership.
