This week saw three new sets of guest insights on Motales, starting with photography of Trenton Engine’s 2025 Family Day celebration. The doors of many Chrysler factories were thrown open this year for the return of family days, as if to celebrate the more sensible reign of Antonio Filosa.

A few former dealership staffers weighed in on the life and career of a car salesman, covering competition and dirty tricks from other sales staff, feast and famine, good and bad dealerships, and research on how the best dealers to work for, become the best dealers to work for.

Finally, a former FCA US engineer gave a detailed treatise on what differentiates OEM (e.g. Mopar) from aftermarket parts. We annotated it with the meanings of the technical terms. (The difference is far more than one might think!) He also answered questions on issues that come up as cars age out and OEMs are not doing warranty work any more; and how some major parts failures can be explained. Finally, he talked about the specific issues for those with Hellcat V8s.

As with all “permanent” stories on Motales, these are listed on the home page while they are new, and then rotated off; only the three newest stories stay on the home page. After they are rotated off for a while, they are put into the random stories pool, and whatever section of the site seems reasonable at the time.
We have also updated our rumor roundups—upcoming cars and trucks, engines, and factories—in a busy week for new revelations.
